Hi there we would like to say thank you so much for our dog now named "Lady".
We are so happy to have her and and she is settled already.  Took a few pics today.
She is a little poser. Many thanks again for all your wonderful work at Deerness and such a lovely group of people, Very caring and happy.  from Val & Peter Dawson.

Hi,
We are sending a couple of photos of our 2 lovely dogs rehomed from Deerness, our lurcher Blue in March and Minnie the terror (oops terrier) in May.  As you can see, Blue is a champion lurcher!  He came tops in our village fair 'Mutt of Middridge' competition in July, and also won at the Weardale Terrier and Lurcher show on Sunday, which qualified us for the Cock of the North competition at Wolsingham on Sunday - fingers crossed.  Apart from his obvious good looks, Blue is a great dog, very friendly and loving - lurchers make great pets and I would urge anyone thinking about rehoming a dog to consider a lurcher.
Thanks for everything and see you at the next fun day.
The Stenger family

We thought you might like to see this picture of Stardust with her new 'Dad' at the ferry. She is off to her new home on the Isle of Man. What a pretty little girl.

Here is a picture of our dear little dog Beauty who we had from you on27/5/2010.She is the most lovable little dog and we enjoy having her with us at all times. As you can see from the photo she is making sure she is not left behind when we were packing for our holidays recently.

 Hi,
this is just a quick note to let you know how Shakira is getting on, well the first thing is her name, we changed it to Sookie, or Sookie Delila if you talk to the kids, it seems right for her after a lot of deliberation. Sookie is settling in really well, in fact you would think that she had been with us for years. In our local park there is a fenced in area where you can let dogs off the lead and Sookie can outrun most of the other dogs on any given day. She is a beautiful sensitive, but clumsy girl and gets into trouble every now and then, mainly because she is having too much fun and is not looking where she is going!
I have enclosed a picture taken last week when we were on holiday at the Lakes, everyone comments on her wherever you go, the first question usually is "what kind of dog is that?" then, "she is beautiful". I can't answer the first question and can't argue with the second comment.

MAGGIE NOW BELLA HAS FOUND A SUPER HOME WITH A NEW PAL  20/08/10

Hello to all my  friends @ Deerness.  I thought that you would like
to see me with
my new Mum.   I am now called Shadow. As you can see I play a lot
more now, and have filled out.
I have had such a good year, out in all winds and weathers in winter,
then going off caravanning
where everyone loves my good manners.  My mum and dad think they re
very lucky to have me -
and I agree!  Love to you all, especially Gavin.

Shadow Smith.

Hello

My name is Sam and I am a Cairn Terrier approximately 4 years old.  I was rehomed from Deerness Kennels just before Christmas 2008, having been found with another terrier a little bigger than me in the fells area.  It took me a good year to completely settle down but now enjoy my new home.
Susan's aunt has a Cocker Spaniel called Heidi and we love to run around the garden at Susan's nan's house.  Ben is a Cairn Terrier too who lives next door to nan but I don't see him that much.
At home I enjoy food, lazing around on my cushions and playing with my Nina Ottoson dog game and also enjoy cuddles and fuss.
Thank you for taking me in and helping to find me a new home.
 Regards
Sam

Hi everyone its us again Bramble n Fizz from Fleetwood. We just wanted to show you one of our holiday snaps, this is us sitting in something they call a beer garden, we dont know about the beer bit but we do know that if you sit there long enough someone brings out massive plates of really good smelling food, theres always too much so we just have to help finish it off. Can you see us in this photo we were watching the plates very carefully just to make sure there was enough for all four of us. The photo was taken by the side of Loch Lomond we did a tour of Scotland in the camper with mum and dad a few weeks ago. We went to Loch Ness too but we didnt see the Monster, we know what it looks like though dad said it looks just like mum before she puts her eye make up on we didnt laugh honest. We have been away in the camper a few times now and always enjoy it, it means lots and lots of walks for us poor old mum and dad they do try but they just havent got the energy we have we can walk all day but we have to let them sit down now and then. Usually when they do someone asks them all about us people are always saying how gorgeous we both are we get soooo bored we know we are gorgeous we have heard it so many times We will email again soon with more of our adventures, lots of love from Bramble and Fizz and mum and dad

And of course eating and sleeping. hahahahaha. She loves to play-fight with us but is a very gentle and loving dog. She can snore but this is easy to cope with as she doesn't do it a lot but is so cute when she dreams!!!! We couldn't have picked a better dog. She's great for the family. She is scared of when they stop and pull over because she will cry and jump out of he way bu loves riding on hem and riding in cars. She likes watching TV and always pricks er ears to new noises. She is sooo friendly. She was a stray bu became used to her name straight away and we all adore her. Above are some pictures of her. Thanks so so so much for her. she is the best dog ever!!!

To everyone at Deerness ...
We adopted a patterdale terrier named Sweep in January and since then his weight has gone from 6.1kg to a healthy 12.5kg, all his fur has grown back and his nasty cough is a thing of the past. He has settled in really well with our other patterdale Vince, loves going to the beach and has made loads of new doggie friends. A big THANK YOU to you all as he is an absolute pleasure to have around, even when he chews through the telephone cables!!!

Thank You so much Deerness for introducing us to Minnie
John Gillian and Minnie

I thought I would drop you a quick email about our dog Rudie (formally Todd), we adopted from yourselves in October 2008. I had never had a staffie before, but he is the most lovable dog I know, a big softy. He is doing very well now, and he is very well behaved. We have taught him many tricks and loves being rewarded!
I have enclosed a few recent photos.
Keep up the excellent work that all the staff do!
Jen x

We just wanted to let you know how well McGee has settled in.  Missy took a few days to get used to him but now the two of them play together all of the time.  He is full of curiosity for everything and Missy is so patient and gentle with him.  He has brought so much happiness and fun with him and we can't wait to take him out.  Thank you all for the great work you do.
Hi all at Deerness, can you remember us, we're lurchers and I used to be called Jacob (now Jake) & Connor (now Rik).  I went to live with my new mam and dad in November 09 and Rik came to live with us in December, just after xmas.  I wasn't very happy that I had to share my new xmas toys with Rik at first but mam and dad said I had to and I must say, it is fun having a friend about.  Rik was a bit unsettled on his first night and dad found him on the kitchen benches looking for food.  He growled a couple of times when I was having my dinner too but now, we share everything (but our Rik is still governed by his belly, mam and dad can get him to do anything in return for a biscuit).  Rik didn't like being left at first either but it didn't really bother me, when mam and dad went out, we used to play in the conservatory but Rik would get very excited and rip up the furniture which made my new mam cry a bit at first but mam and dad have lots of patience and now, we're very good boys.  We like it now when they go out cos they put these lovely comfy brown things on the living room sofa, mam calls it a throw, and we can sleep on them.  We also sleep on them at night when mam and dad go to bed then on a morning, we race each other upstairs and jump on the bed to wake dad up, or mam if it's a weekend.  We've been on holiday a couple of times to somewhere called Rudding Park and it's great cos there's loads of ducks and rabbits but mam and dad won't let us off the lead to chase the rabbits.  We also go for long walks every day round the fields, I love hunting for pheasants and rabbits, Rik tries to keep up with me and tries to make it look like he knows what he's doing but he's not as good at hunting as what I am.  I'm great and I'm as fast as anything but I haven't caught anything yet but that's cos Rik gets in the way.  We've got a lovely big garden aswell and lots of balls and toys to play with.  Everyone who sees us always says we're lovely and I can tell that mam and dad are dead proud of us, they're always t!
 elling u
s we're good boys and give us loads of cuddles.  I love it when mam and dad are watching the telly and sometimes they let us get up on the sofa and cuddle into them.  Anyway, I'm going to have a sleep now cos I've just had one of mam's sunday dinners with yorkshire puddings and everything. Thank you very much for looking after us and for finding us our new mam and dad, mam and dad said to let you know that they love us very much.

Hi everyone at Deerness
We thought we would send you a few pictures and a bit of an update on Murphy who we re homed in February.  He has settled in really well with us, and has made a few new friends too, he has 2 new sisters in Droopy and Amber and they all get on like a house on fire, he has also got a great fascination with our 3 cats, he likes nothing more than to lay near them and just stare, he is really mesmerized by them.  Murphy loves his walks and is keeping us fit, as along with his long walk everyday he likes to make us take him for a few shorter walks throughout the day too.  He loves coming to bed with us and his 2 canine sisters, and usually ends up in the middle of the bed on his back with his legs in the air snoring his head off.  He loves his food and treats and getting as much attention as he can get, but he has to fight Amber for that, as she loves her cuddles too.  When we got him he was a little bit slow on his walks, but has soon picked up his pace, well he had to if he wanted to keep up with Droopy who is a Greyhound, and Amber the Lurcher/Staffy cross. He hasn’t quite grasped the concept of chasing the ball, he prefers to carry his toy round the field and tries to grab the ball chucker and carry that too.  We are so glad that we took Murphy on, he is a really lovely dog, and a real credit to his former owners, he is lovely natured and a real pleasure, we all love him to bits, and look forward to many more happy years with him
Hi, Just wanted you to know it's almost a year since we adopted our little dog brittany from you and I'm so so pleased that we did.
She is a much loved member of our family now and has been an absolute joy to be around, she's great with our kids and watching them run around with her is fantastic.
After searching for weeks on the net Brit was the only dog I felt I really had to meet and it was love at first sight. I really think she was meant to be ours as she fits in so well with our family.

Thank you so so much for saving her and keeping her safe til we came along, the work you do is amazing xxx

I adopted Archie back in September last year, and thought you might appreciate an update on how he is doing.
He has been fantastic and I can no longer imagine life without him, he has recently discovered he loves camping, and has fallen in love with the best water bowl in the world (Derwent Water) and apart from a total hatred of waves (which left me chasing him for over a mile) he behaved impeccably.  He loves taking an interest in whatever I am doing: He has improved on the lead, and can be trusted off the lead (except when near waves), he can be a bit rude with other dogs, but is fine if he is properly introduced.   I think before he was lucky enough to get to yourselves he has probably been attacked by another dog, as most of his aggression seems to stem from fear, and may have had a run in with a man in a reflective jacket (this came as a surprise to both me and the recovery truck driver). He still gets very anxious if left alone outside (if I nip into a shop) but that is improving, and he has now accepted that my garden is not the most terrifying place in the world, and can happily spend a little time out there unattended. He has a lovely bed next to the radiator and is great with everyone from my friends young children to my Granny, he has a hoard of fans at the local pub and my parents are only to happy to baby sit their “grand-dog”.  All in all I couldn’t be happier, it was love at first sight, and fate and all those other romantic notions that are only true of dogs and never men!  Jane Taylor  BSc (Hons)

 Hi Linda,

This is to attach a photo of the new-look Sapphire in her garden.  We are really pleased with her and the way she has settled in with us and lovely Pluto.  They are bonding very well and beginning to enjoy playing together.  They also attract lots of comments and compliments when we are out - another good advert for Deerness!  Thank you for saving her for us, we think she had our name stamped on her somewhere, though we have yet to find it.

Best wishes from Val, Jeff, Pluto and Sapphire.

As you can see the "little pup" we adopted in January is rapidly becoming a valued and much cuddled member of our family in Catterick. She's making alot of new friends both of the two and four legged kind. The only problem is that she is definately a "girlie" dog as she prefers to cuddle up to the wife and our 2 year old daughter.

Can't thank you enough

Simon, Judy, Lily and Porsha the Pooch

Hello,
Thought we should send in some photo's and let you know how our lovely dog is doing.  We rehomed 'Randall' on the 2 nd January.  He is now known as 'George' or 'Georgeous George' to most people who know him.
George has now put on weight, is more confident and secure.  He has a lovely personality and will sit and have a cuddle for hours, this is only interupted when someone mentions BALL, DINNER or WALKIES.
Thank you so much for our  lovely dog.  W have have recently been away for a week in Northumberland and have attached some  photos for you to publish on your webpage.
Many thanks
Bev, Mark and all the Hutchinson family

As you can see, Spot has settled in really, really well and is thoroughly enjoying life with his new family. Spot is gaining in confidence day by day and showing his real joyful character and charm.

We’re so glad we visited Deerness when we did or else we wouldn’t have found our perfect family dog, Spot! We decided to keep the name Spot as it just seems to suit him down to the ground.

We’d like to thank the staff at Deerness, who were fantastic throughout the process of helping find the right dog for us. We were given loads and loads of helpful information and support and nothing was too much trouble for the Deerness staff.

Thank You!!

Paul, Dawn, Ross and Spot!!

Hello there, I thought I would drop you a line just to let you know how I've settled in with the Walker family. I've been here for over 6 weeks now and although I was a little nervous to begin with I absolutely love it here now!
I've met lots of other dogs on my walks, they all seem very friendly. Sometimes I'm even allowed off the lead, like when we went to the seaside last week but I make sure Dad brings treats.... I twigged on to that one quickly!! It's a bit like sitting and giving my paw - easy when there's a doggy biscuit on offer!
No more accidents in the house (more treats...) and I manage to sleep all night without crying. I love playing with the kids and trying to pinch their breakfast on a morning although I don't seem to be getting treats for this.
I'd just like to say thank you to everybody at Deerness for looking after me and especially to Anne for giving me the chance to be with my new family.

Love

Oska x x x

p.s.   I may not have got upstairs to the beds yet but it didn't take me long to wear down the 'NO SETTEE' rule!!!

KIESHA WITH FURY BOTH FOUND A LOVELY HOME TOGETHER

We would like to thank you for your help and advice and for letting us rehome Blue (formerly Bobby).  He is a fantastic dog, great in the house and very playful - he's such a character.  He will lounge about during the day until my girls come home from school and nursery then he rushes off to get his toys for a mad couple of hours.  We will hopefully be back shortly to have a go at fostering some of the other great dogs you have at the moment. Thanks again from the Stenger family.

Dear Linda and Kevin,
I send you a picture to show you all how well Ben and little Marley are doing...they are very good friends and run around (almost!) together. For those who are considering to adopt a greyhound I would say they are the most gentle and sweet dogs, very quiet, clean and layback...just perfect.  Ben is perferct with children and even with our chickens!
with love
Silvia

Hi everyone at Deerness,
We adopted Nova, now Missy, from you three weeks ago.  We just wanted to thank you.  She was rather quiet at first but her personality soon shone through.  She is now a very happy dog with bags of energy, three walks a day, games and treats!  We will be in soon looking for a friend for her!  It was so great to discover Deerness, see all the great work you do and hopefully help out when and where we can.
See you all soon
Andy, Kirsten and, of course, Missy x

I was very nervous getting a stray dog, not knowing his past and what kind of dog we would be bringing into our home, but I want to say he's perfect in every way.
We all love him and could not imagine life with out him.
We have joined the national trust and take him on long walks every weekend, he plays in the garden every minute of the day, he's friendly funny very loving and the best dog I have ever had.
Our friends and family think Max was lucky that we adopted him, but I think we were even luckier to get a great dog like Max, I would not hesitate in reccommending your kennels to friends and family looking to extend their family.
Thank you once again for the most perfect dog.
Michelle Mitchell

  Update on RAZOR
We've had no problems at all with him, apart from him still being very clingy. If we leave the room he thinks we've deserted him and barks, but apart from that he's fine. o problems with the car journey, he slept on the back seat all the way home, which is par for his normal life really, eat and sleep.
I'll send some more pictures in three weeks from his first trip to the caravan in Norfolk when we'll see how he gets along with ducklings!
Thanks again.

Hi we adobted Clyde our staffordshire bull terrier from you in january.
He is a very happy dog, he loves to go for long walks with us and as you can see from the photos is very interested in the pigeons than land on our window lol.
He is great with our 6 year old son, when he gets upset Clyde is the first one there, he is also great with my two year old sister who comes round from time to time.
He gets spoilt a bit, he has his own bed but we still let him sleep in ours, even though he takes up all the room.
We couldn't have wished for a better dog. We are considering bringing him to one of the classes you mentioned. That you run on a saturday, as we would like a companion for him one day and would like to make sure he would be ok with another dog. Please could you e-mail me with any suitable classes.
Thankyou very much
Emma, David and Callum xxx

Dear Mr and Mrs Deerness, We keep hoping for fame on your website. Here is our contribution. We have had Owen for two months. He is a lovely dog, very good with children of all ages, and generally well behaved. He is the fastest dog on the beach and has been known to have an accidental swim when trying to make friends with dogs on the other side of the river. He does not like badgers. He has only ever barked when he sees a badger.  He has a very healthy appetite and has chewed through two leads and one coat. His favourite place is the local pub and he also goes to church on Sunday (he is one of the pleasanter members of the congregation). He has had some problems settling in (he gets lonely when he is left on his own), but these are being progressively solved, and we are very pleased to have him. We think lurchers are the best dogs ever. Our sincere thanks and very best wishes, Ruth, Tommy and John.

Hello to all at Deerness.here is a photo of my beautiful little girl.Tilly formerly (Jill).I adopted her in January she had a few small problems but as you can see she is looking great now.
she is a wonderful dog and the light of my life i am very fortunate to have her
.

We re-homed Poppy last year and she joined our current rescue lurcher, Toby. Every sighthound I meet is an ambassador for the others left behind, they have the most addictive personalities and can adapt to so many different circumstances. Take Poppy, she was originally a terrified little thing, but now as soon as you clip on her lead her tail doesn't stop wagging until you return home, it's like every step she takes outside is the best step of her life, sometimes I swear I can see her smile. Her and Toby have bonded like soul mates and Poppy has developed into the most wonderful dog. She is calm, gentle and relaxed, but loves nothing more than chasing her toys or playing peek-a-boo (have you ever known a dog to do that?!) She just acts like every moment is something worth remembering. My two beauties are a blessing and I recommend anyone considering adopting a dog to give that sighthound a second look, because you may be missing one of the greatest adventures of your life.
Lou, Jamie, Toby and Poppy x

Hi everyone at Deerness,  Just to let you know I’ve settled in really well with my new family.  I was a bit shy at first but now I’ve come out of my shell and I’m really happy in my new home.   I especially like playing with all the lovely toys that I now have. My new family would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Deerness and the RSPCA for looking after me and they think you’re doing a great job!  I’ve attached a few photo’s of me in my new home  which you are welcome to use on the web site. Love Lucy xx  c/o Mark , Sue, Owen and Aaron Lang

Hi All at Deerness Thought you might like to see the latest photo of Dollar (aka Orville) who we adopted October 2008.  We couldn’t have wished for a better dog and we all love him to bits, even the cat & guinea pig enjoy his company. The photo is of Dollar having an enjoyable run out his socialisation classes in Darlington unfortunately you can’t see his friends but they were all having a ball.Lesley Robb

Hello All Just want to thank you for letting Sam & Adrian adopt me, I have now been here a week and have already claimed the sofa as my own, I have been a good boy and was well behaved on the 3hr journey to my new home, I have made good friends with Alfie (dog) and Bicker (cat). anyone who is put off having a lurcher with a cat should think again, not all lurchers see cats as fair game, but as great friends and companions. I will keep in touch Love Gino

Here are some pictures of Olive at home, she has settled in very well! Shes a lovely dog, full of beans and very playful. Intelligent too, she can already 'sit' and 'stay' :) She is abit scared of the cows but they are more scared of her, and she is fine with the cats, Mothwing isnt so sure of her but Moul seems to like her he even came with her on a little walk. We have had a few visitors to the house and she has been great, greeting them and being generally happy to see them.  Absolutely no problem, shes the perfect dog (although she likes to run away with the rug!) and thanks again for letting us give her a good home :D

Hello everybody,
Just to let you know how Galaxy has settled in. From the moment she arrived at our house, she let us know that she enjoyed food, plenty of cuddles, and the best seats in the house. She is such a loving dog, always looking for attention. She is also great with the grandchildren, so everything is perfect at the moment. Cannot wait until she has her next innoculation and I can take her down to the lifeboat. Will keep in touch with some further photographs. Best regards, Mr. Keri Merilo

Hi to everyone at Deerness,
Here is an update on our great dog, Oscar, who we got from you 3 years ago, as a pup.  We don't know what we would do without him.  He is a little person in his own right and brings so much happiness to everyone he meets.  Thanx for all the great work you guys do! Chloe, Paul and Oscar x

hi everyone at deerness. We adopted Perkins last Sunday and thought it would be nice for you to see how well he has settled in. He likes to go for his walks,is eating well and lapping up all the attention he is getting in the home. As you can see from the photo he has adopted our daughter Amy 's bedroom as his own!!!!!!!(Amy is at Uni so only visits in holidays)
Our dog Bracken had to be put to sleep in June and since then our house has been empty.Since Perkins arrived the perky little fella has made it a home.
Thankyou for Angie,Anne and all Deeerness Staff for choosing us to be his new parents.
Keep up your brilliant work
love

Hi everyone
We adopted spud in august and it took about 5 mins before he had his feet firmly under the table! He has become one of the family and enjoys nothing more than a long run along the river with his dad chasing the ducks and then curling up on the sofa with his mam! He has given our other dog Mojo a new lease of life - its as if they've always been together!
It was a lovely experience adopting spud from deerness - very flexible and easy going and there was a really nice atmosphere. Keep up the good work - we will be supporting you as much as we can!!

Hi all of you at Deerness Kennels  Firstly, I just want to say thank you for an amazing dog! I re-homed Roxy (was Dexy) in late September from the stray section at your kennels and after a couple of visits, the curly coated terrier stole my heart!! So after 3 months of having Roxy as a pet, I thought I would give you a little update on how she is doing. She is a fantastic addition to the family, and she literally is ideal for us. After having reservations about re-homing a stray dog, not knowing much about them, I have to admit it is the best thing I have done, Roxy is fab!! Not only is she a beautiful dog (especially after the bath and haircut she desperately needed) she is so friendly, happy and content and she fits in with our lifestyle perfectly. I couldn’t have wished for a nicer, perfect dog than Roxy!! All of the family absolutely spoil her, which she needed and deserved, and in return we get so many snuggles and cuddles from her! Although she was not too friendly with other dogs originally, she is definitely coming round now and there is a huge improvement (even though she does need to be an only dog in the home). We have been back to the kennels a couple of times since to donate blankets, food and toys and to have a look at the other dogs, and I could give them all a home if Miss Roxy would allow! I have now recommended to all my friends who were considering buying a dog to look at the kennels and rescue centres as a first resort, as I never thought such a fantastic dog could have been a stray! Thank you so much! I have attached a picture of the newly groomed Roxy! Laura

Hello everyone at Deerness-it's Bramble here again! I just wanted to let you all know that my little sister Fizz is settling in nicely and loving it here in Fleetwood as much as i do. We are having the best time ever here-everybody loves us and it's no wonder really is it-we are pretty special! We've even been called stunning quite a few times though it's not surprising-i am stunningly handsome (though i do say so myself) and my sister Fizz is stunningly pretty (but don't tell her i said that).I think my mum has finally managed to post some photos of us this time-there's one of me relaxing on the settee,as i like to do after a hard day,one of Fizz in the back garden in the snow and a couple of us on our Xmas jollies-we went away in the camper to Grange over Sands for a few days and took mum and dad on lots of walks-trouble is they can't keep up with us-no stamina! Seriously though me and Fizz just want to say thankyou to everyone there for helping us when we needed it most-you all do a fantastic job and we do appreciate it-we just hope that all our doggie friends there end up as happy as we are. We've got our mum and dad wrapped round our little paws! We will get them to bring us to visit when we come over your way in the camper-you will be able to see how we have come on and how much we are loving life as a family. Thanks again and hope to see you all soon, love from Bramble(otherwise known as Bramblebones), Fizz (Fizzy-pop) and mum and dad (Debbie and Jon) xxx

 Hi Linda,
Everything has gone great with Cyril.  He has fitted right in with us, it is as if he had always been here.  He’s friendly with every dog he meets, he’s very laid back with the cats and is an absolute delight.  He seems to cope OK when I’m at work too (I just have to remember to clear every trace of food away from the kitchen, he ate a whole pack of RAW spaghetti last week, I’d left it out on the bench).
I’ll pop over to adopt him next weekend.  I’ve had Hetty and him at the beach this morning, it was his first time there.  As you can see, he had a lovely time!    He is very much like Hetty in his temperament.  The beach was packed with dogs this morning, but they were both off the lead all the time.  They love to run together, although they have knocked me over once already!  Thankfully I landed in thick snow!
See you all next weekend, and thanks for recommending Cyril.

Hi there

Just a quick note and a few pictures to let you know Leo is doing fine. He
has been a great addition to the family and a great source of company to Tia
our other Staffie.
He has barely needed any training at all and is walking well on the lead. We
have found though he can jump very high as he jumped our four foot fence in
he back garden deciding to take himself to the nearby school to play with
the children and do laps on the school field.
Thanks Deerness for letting us give Leo the chance and family he deserves

hi our names are russ and denise,
in april of 2008 we adopted a white bull terrier mix called alfie (formerly tyson) he was always full of love from day one but a little nervous from whatever experiences he had as a younger dog. however through love and training he is blossoming into a dream dog. welive right at the beach at seaham so he gets to run loose on the beach daily (fave game chasing stones and seaweed ripping!) we love him to bits and he is so loyal, loving and obedient. many of our friends say he is the best behaved dog they have met! clever too!. anyway, thanks to all the staff who put in the hard graft and dedication it takes to run an operation such as yourselves, and thanks for giving us and many others the opportunity not only to help a poor mutt, but add so much joy to our lives. good work team, keep grafting, respect!

  Hello everyone at Deerness kennels,

Hope you can remember the springer spaniel, Chloe, we rehomed from you August 11th 2009. She has settled into her new home really well.  She gets so excited at walkies time and loves to chase the ball. Her favourite walk is through the woods but nearly always needs a bath when she comes home with muddy legs.  She is great with other dogs and thinks everyone is her friend.  Thank you for saving her.
Best wishes, Lynne and Paul

We adopted Toby    aka TAZ    on 26th July 2009 and, as you can see from the attached photo, he has setlled in very well.  This is his favourite spot and he loves to snuggle up here.  It is great to be welcomed with one of his smiles  even if you have only been out the room for 10 minutes.   We could not have wished for a more loyal or loving companion.
Keep up the good work.Regards,
Lesley Smith

SCOOBY AND HANNA BROUGHT THEIR OWNER TO SEE US TODAY
AS HE IS OVER THE MOON WITH US BOTH

I would like to thank the staff at Deerness Kennels for their help in aquiring our new dog, Suzie. We brought suzie home on trial to see how she would fit in with our family, our youngest being 2 yrs old. We have been so pleasantly surprised at how easily she has settled in. She is very well behaved, so far good with other dogs and loves going out for a walk. She is fully housetrained, which is a bonus and she likes nothing more than to snuggle up on the couch and snore !! So thanks again from the Beasleys to the sta
