success stories

Hello I know it's been a while since we got Gez (gerrard) from you, November to be exact. We have worked through issues had a couple of power struggles and he's fitting in great!. Goes to dog classes, socialises off lead surrounded by 10 or more dogs in open fields. His coat condition is magnificent and his weight is now spot on. Very social chap, part of the family.

Dear All at Deerness

I thought I would just drop you a line to let you know how Ben's getting on. He made himself at home almost straight away! He is such a gentle dog, he doesn't bark or cry and is really well behaved in the home.  He didn’t seem to want to go into his bed for the first few days but now is more than happy to go into his bed and have some time to himself.  He just loves his tummy tickled and has learnt some new commands ( who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!).  He wasn’t very good walking on the lead and we have been working on this with him and he has shown major improvements in just this short time.  He doesn't seem to like other dogs at all, but we will keep working at it (with professional help).  I have attached a photo of Ben chilling out in the garden

Homeless through no fault of their own, these dogs are desperate for a new, loving home. See our Galllery for details of dogs currently with us.

If you are unable to offer a permanent home to a dog for any reason, why not consider short term or long term fostering?

We would like to invite your pets to spend their holiday with us. All our rooms have comfy beds, dry vet bed and fresh water with outside runs.
